V naši družini je čebelarstvo že tradicija. Prvi se je s čebelarstvom začel ukvarjati okoli leta 1850 moj praded Mihael Smrdelj iz Nadanjega sela pri Pivki, ki je čebelaril v kranjičih. V sezoni 1911/1912 je njegov sin mizar Anton Smrdelj izdelal 36 AŽ panjev po modelu Antona Žnideršiča, ki ga je spoznal takrat, ko je pri njem izdeloval okna hiše. Te panje je podedoval moj oče, za njim pa še jaz. To so 9-satni panji, ki jemljejo slovo in bodo kmalu le še okrasni spomin, saj jih je zob časa preveč ugriznil.
Moja samostojna čebelarska pot se je začela šele potem, ko je oče resno zbolel, leta 2007. Izdelal mi je prvi prevozni kontejner za pet 3 – etažnih panjev. Kasneje sem dokupila še eno večjo prevozno enoto in uredila stacionarni čebelnjak. Ljubezen do čebel sem prenesla tudi na svojega moža, ki pa raje čebelari v nakladnih panjih. Seveda je to začutila tudi hčerka že v rosnih letih. Želja po znanju o čebelah jo je vodila na čebelarska tekmovanja, tudi v tujino, kjer je dosegla zlato medaljo. No, ker pa je moje navdušenje tako veliko, širim zanimanje tudi med prijatelje in seveda moje učence. V šoli, kjer poučujem fiziko in tehniko smo na mojo pobudo leta 2009 postavili šolski čebelnjak. Otroci prvih generacij, ki so danes že odrasli imajo svoje čebelnjake.
Želja po znanju me je gnala naprej, da sem se izobrazila tudi kot apiterapevtka ter pridobila poklic čebelarka. Predavam na tečajih za čebelarje začetnike in sem aktivna v Obalnem čebelarskem društvu Koper. Ker sem po duši inovator in sem tudi diplomirala na fakulteti za strojništvo, v čebelarstvu nenehno iščem tehnične in tehnološke rešitve, ki jih tudi sama izpeljem v svoji delavnici.
Poleg medu pridobivam še propolis, cvetni prah izkopanec in osmukanec, medeni liker ter izdelujem propolisove kreme, sveče, med s sokom rdeče pese, propolisova mila, tulce za čiščenje ušes in podobno.
Žal je zame dan prekratek, da bi počela vse tisto kar imam v mislih. Edino čebelice me tako pritegnejo, da mi ukradejo čas in zvabijo k počitku pred čebelnjak.

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes.
